About Serious Runner

The Serious Runner Youtube Channel and social media accounts satirize “serious runners” who take marathon training to the extreme. The videos poke fun at training obsessions, an over-reliance on gadgets and data, and of course, the lure of qualifying for the Boston Marathon.

At over 12,000 subscribers on YouTube, there is a small but mightly and loyal following.

Occassionally, the channel creates other content, such as a more traditional running vlog, product review videos, and race recaps.

Companion Book

“The Serious Runner Handbook” was released as a companion book to the channel and has sold over 600 copies.

The book is currently available on print and digital on Amazon.

Backstory

Before COVID, my job entailed visiting customers on-site and filming testimonial videos. When the pandemic began, that was not possible. Looking to fill an urge to create video, I began making running videos. This project taught me a lot about YouTube, social media management, and SEO. It remains a creative outlet for me.
